Children's Liturgy of the Word

Children's Liturgy of the Word wil provide the 3-11 year old children of St. Mary's Catholic Church with an understanding of the Sunday gospel through the use of age appropriate readings, activities and projects taught by approved parish leaders and student volunteers.  Early contact with our Church's social and educational structure will guide the children into a closer, more personal relationship with our LOrd and lead to a stronger bond with our Catholic Church as they grow.

General Information

Children's liturgy of the Word is held every Sunday at 9:00 and 11:00 Mass from September through May.  There are usually a few Sundays when a scheduling conflict prevents access to the church basement.

Fr. Tuan will be saying a special Children's Mass at 11:00 on the last Sunday of each month.  We may be asked to assist at that Mass.

Each leaderwill be assigned one class per month .  If a leader cannot take the assigned class, she should contact other leaders to take their place and contact me of the change.

Student volunteers are always willing to help.  You can ask Fr. Tuan to request student helpers when he invites the children to Children's Liturgy.

You will be provided with a lesson guide and activity or project materials.  I'll email you information about the lesson and put any project materials on the Rectory porch for you to pick up.  All project supplies will be in the Church basement waiting for you.

Tables and chairs will usually be set up Saturday night.  Tear-down is done by student helpers after 11:00 children's Liturgy.  Our student helpers are experienced in tear-down, and will finish in time for the majority of the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
